This structure is a large stone arch behind a disused shipping company in Baraboo.
An 1896 date carving is noticeable on the south face. However, the other side of the arch likely has an 1879 carving.
The Chicago & North Western Railway Historical Society Archives provided a date of 1879 for the initial build date.
Of the two sets of photos, the first was from the dying hour of sunlight, while the second was from earlier in the afternoon.
With a built date of 1879, this would be one of the oldest single vaulted stone arches in Wisconsin. The oldest is believed to be nearby Goette Road.
Overall, the bridge appears to remain in near mint condition, with little spalling.
The author has ranked this bridge as being moderately significant, due to the older age of a simple design.
The photo above is an overview. The bridge can be seen from an abandoned parking lot.
